didn't we have a lovely time...

...the weekend i went to Cambridge, for my cousins wedding. an early start on saturday, after a very late friday night. 2 bottles of wine and a turbo shandy, while watching the final big brother and some aussie rules (which may have been the match marky was at) with craigy and then having one of our old "up all night yacking and drinking tea" sessions. which we used to do weekly after a jolly night down the FC, no krypton factor this time though...

...attempted to annoy the folks at the wedding, by wearing one item of attire deemed unsuitable...

...but please judge for yourself who looks the biggest muppet...

...yeah, yeah, do i look like a give a shit?...

...almost shed a tear during the service, but held back and even felt Clare's pain as she stuffed up her vows (heehee). yeah she looked beautiful as everyone said, but somewhat thin at the same time :os headed back to her mum's house for the reception in the garden. the champagne was flowing for hours, me and dad knocked it back...

...several hours later time for the meal, here comes the wine, thank you. speech time, my uncle michael, the groom, peter, and best man (both yanks :o/ ) were all amusing, and yet again i felt a slight "welling" in my eyes. stuffed and fully tanked up, i head back out to the garden , where i am kept stocked up by beer from several sources who have realised i am a full on beer monster :o) happy me, chilling out with my grandad. amaze the world and his wife later on by getting my grandad up on the dance floor (he has been telling said world and wife about his arthritis all day!) where he fully gave it some, hands in the air and all. my mother sadly could not get the camera to work at this point (aaargh!)...

...next morning we HAVE to be up for breakfast at the B&B at 8am, urghh to say the least, but after a fry up it's straight back to sleep :o) went out for a meal in the avo with my aunt, uncle and other two cousins (not the one getting married) as it's my grandad's 90th birthday on wednesday. beer and wine flowing again, wahey and yet another roasting day. back to my aunt's for cake and champagne. i get picked to play footie with sam (3 year old 2nd cousin, aww) then head down to the pub with my cousin chris. despite the pissed bloke that kept proving to us he was not wearing any pants, a pleasant time and i amazed myself by downing 3 pints in less than an hour. did the longest wee ever in the morning though - heehee...

...headed into cambridge on monday, with my aunt and uncle as it was their wedding anniversay. did an open top bus tour around the city, bit of window shopping (i will be back there with cash soon so if anyone wants to join me...) and a tasty lunch. then it was time to head back to the old lesta, and i happily slept all the way home...

rips, trips and minor blips...

...the merry party, Craig, Alessia, Andy, Emma and myself, were all together and Copenhagen bound by 7:30am thursday morning. we arrived at the airport after only a small bout of road rage between our taxi driver and a truck driver, which we heartily encouraged and joined in with...

...plenty of time at the airport for bacon and egg cobs, air hockey and a game or two of Who wants to be a millionaire? we only wanted to be quidaires...

...up, up and away, then 1 1/2 hours later, down, down and bump...

..."Dav Copenhagen, we are here"...

...Andy, Emma and i take the bus to the flat, pleasant trip until Emma get's yelled at by a woman with a pushchair to move and then get's kicked by another one to move again...

...it's about 5:30pm so we head straight out into the centre to Nyhavn, a strip of bars along the canal, 200 krona for 5 pints (that's about £18 - ooer, expensive weekend ahead or a very sober one) a very enjoyable evening spent drinking, obviously, and eating (italian). headed back to the flat 11pmish, but we were not ready to stop drinking so called into a bar near the flat. sudden silence and a lot of dodgy looks didn't deter us as booze was our mission, finishing drinks swiflty we nominated craig to leave the bar first (on seeing the bar in light the next day we wondered what possessed us to enter somewhere that had net curtains!). heading back up to the flat, knowing we needed something to amuse ourselves with now alcohol was not available, Craig attempted to climb as many steps as possible in one go. i believe five was accomplished, although it was at the expense of a much loved pair of cords, which made a very loud ripping noise as craig's as crotch exploded out of them...

...Emma, Ale, Andy and i had to crawl into the flat we were laughing so hard...

...our first task the next day was to purchase beer, as for some ridiculous reason they stop selling alcohol in shops at 8pm in Denmark. then we headed off to Tivoli for a day of rollercoasters, beer (&pizza) and taking the piss out of unfortunately dressed passers by. had to go to the viking bar there and have a drink that was a mixture of beer and mead as they serve it in horn shaped cups, which we got to bring home - wahey...

...that night we headed out to find a bar Gyda had recommended as the "in" place to go in Copenhagen. it's situated in the middle of nowhere in an old boatshed by the canal, with sand and sun loungers outside and halfway into the building - very odd, but a cool place we happily wiled away the hours in. heading inside to groove to the beats of DJ's Sweet & Sour, we secured a couple of huge sofa's to lounge about on. several pints, jaegermeisters and kahlua & cokes later...do our eye's deceive us? nope, it's a couple of blokes spinning round the dance floor in wheelchairs, zooming up and down the room at some speed, may have been playing chicken...

...saturday, the day of rest, we headed into the city to trawl the shops. treat ourselves to italian for lunch again, then headed to Museum Erotica, not much to say on that subject but "oh my god!"...

...headed back towards the Nyhavn and decided to take a boat trip around the canals, saw the Little Mermaid - she was fully intact, then headed to a shop to purchase bottles of beer (as this is much cheaper than the bars - aah, finally we learn!) and which it is perfectly legal to drink in the street. sitting by the the large anchor at the end of the Nyhavn, we started tucking into our booze. Ale, Emma and Andy got attacked and chased by a bee for 10 minutes, quite amusing for Craig and i. next we got hassled for our empty beer bottles every five minutes but several different homeless people, then three police vans and two police cars pull up in front of us, and the coppers come charging towards us. craig quickly ducks down onto a lower step fearing we are doing something illegal...

...but they stop just behind and it turns out they were meant to be going to Tivoli, umm even we knew where that was, duh!...

...headed off on a pub crawl through the centre, downing jaegermeister shots a plenty, being a bit lairy and stealing glasses - ooer. ran out of money at about midnight, so resigned ourselves to heading home for about four hours kip before a flight back to England...

..."farvel Copenhagen, it was a gudun"...

...got home very uneventfully, and here i am back to where i started - but having had a cracking weekend - cheers Ale and Craig ;o)
