...is where i'm at...or summat...

...a v.enjoyable weekend last week when the bruv came up for a visit, or more he came to crash on my floor so he could stumble the 200 metres around the corner to watch the lucksmiths play (where he chatted up the band and blagged a free t-shirt off 'em!) and then dumped me the next day so he could head off to edinburgh to watch the, actually quite good, lucksmiths play again and chat to his new best friend marty...

...and all this after i'd taken him to my local safeway to go shopping with robbie carlyle...some people are never satisfied...

...this weekend i headed to edinburger myself, with the g-man, to check out the monet exhibition and have a little wander about. the old town, castle etc was pretty nice and definately worth another visit...

...then in the evening we headed to g's mate's, rosemary and colin's party. a going away do for a couple of their friends. and later i was told that one nice fellow there, named joe, was actually the lead guitarist of pitshifter (when they were on the go of course)...

...and now i'm back at work, my last week, so had better get off my butt to find another job really, but currently feeling pretty sorry for myself with a sore throat and v.cold despite having my coat on...

...i just wanna go home and curl up on the settee with my duvet...

...the last series of buffy starts tonight on BBC2 - yey, something to keep going for!

...is a very untrue statement...

...the weather has been delightful, mostly, since i've been up in glasgow, although it has turned a bit cold this week, the sun is still shining :o)

...i've found somewhere to live, finally, it's only taken me 2 months. i can't believe g isn't fed up with me crashing at his flat, eating all his food, etc! anyway, sarah and i are moving in the first week in october. a bit of a pricey place, but is within 30 seconds walk of 24 hour shop (with a beer license!), an underground station, 2 decent pubs, a subway sandwich shop, pizza hut, pizza express, at least 2 other take-away shops, several other very good restaurants and g's place ;o) and not far from many, many, many other great bars and eateries...

...as for work, still at the abbey national, or the abbey as it is now known, with some shocking pink and lime green colour schemes, which are plastered all over the intranet blinding me all day! not heard from any of the jobs i applied which is pretty pants, what's their problem - i'm great :o(

...g started back at uni today, he's doing a part time MSc in some kind of computing thing, to do with databases, techy stuff and the like - i don't know anything about that sort of stuff :os

although i spoke to him earlier and he was pretty hacked off as the first lecture was cancelled and he's on night shift this week and went straight from work - ooh dear...

...s'pose i should get back to work, oh look at that it's lunch time - ha ha...

...why do i know so many people that need to grow up? alleged adults, that refuse take responsibitly for their actions or deal with their issues and emotions...

...it's not always easy, i know, but pretty much everyone goes through the same problems and manage to find a way through...

...putting your head in the sand is not a healthy option, and there comes a time when you have to face stuff you don't necessarily like...so why put it off? very rarely do you come across another person whose sole intention is to hurt you...

...we are all different, which is a wonderful thing, and we are often more capable of things than we realise...

...don't ever judge people, we are all equal...

...treat people like you expect to be treated in return, and if you feel someone has treated you badly...get over it and get on with your life, it's them who will suffer in the long run...

...life is far too short to worry about petty little things, especially money...if you died tomorrow, would you feel happy about the life you've led? is there things you wish you'd done? or done differently?...

...so why am i sitting here now typing all this?...

...because i am pretty happy, i have done things with my life, i have plans to do more...

...and i care about my friends...

...a very early start, well only 30 minutes earlier than usual, on friday saw Rob and I, speeding is a fair word, down the A50/M1 to EMA to catch our 7am flight to glasgow. a minor glitch at check-in as Rob didn't have any photo ID, then i sparked off a security alert with my mobile phone - oops!...

...8am and we are landing in a very grey, wet Scotland, happily to be met by Graham, who whisked us off to his flat in the west end, with a fantastic view over the city, for a lovely cup of tea...

...few hours later and we head into the city, to check out an outdoor shop so Graham can spend some vouchers he got for his birthday. there was a promise of some snowboarding gear, which i didn't see, but was satisfied with checking out the North Face coats i can't afford...

...next stop "bike porn" for Rob...

...then i rename one of Glasgow most famous streets, it's now Sauciehall Street, my numptyness came about from it being spelt wrong at work (how exciting i knew there was an M&S on that street!)...

...12:30pm and it's time for food and our first beer, the big blue in the west end. huge, bigger-than-the-plate pizza and a hoegaarden - yum...

...a bit later and we head to Oblomov's, not the same as it used to be apparently, but still pretty cool...

...back to the city, and a beer-fueled Rob is determined to spend money...clothes, buddy-jesus, housey stuff, £220 boots, you name it...

...Graham, an empty-handed Rob and I stop into yet another pub for a beer before Sarah finishes work and joins us...

...several beers/vodkas/ciders later the girls and boys part company to head their merry way, with sarah and i heading to a very busy townie type place for one, then on to the australia bar...where else! what joy was to be had, i had a VB, the band played toploader, then the DJ went on to play kylie, s club and five...happy were we as we headed to BK for a feed...

...next morning we awoke to the bad news that sarah's folks shed had been broken into that night. Kilwinning had been the murder capital of scotland until recently, and according to Graham is full of inbreds...anyway...

...sarah and i drag ourselves into Glasgow around 6ish with Shazza, who came out to NZ when we were there, who is off to meet her friends who've been in the city all day. it's about a 40 minutes train ride from her house, and what a surprise it bloomi' raining again by the time we get there. so we duck into a groovy bar called Underworld right next to the station...drunk blokes falling over, hugging each other on the floor...all quite normal...

...sensible us decide to get some decent fodder for a change, so after about 20 minutes of indecision, wandering around, we head up some dodgy looking stairs next to an even dodgier lookin club call Moon, to a Cantonese restaurant. turn out to be really nice, and posh old us even tucked in a bottle of wine...

...then we waddled off to Bar Soba, to meet up with Rob and Graham...had my first, and last long vodka (it's a scottish thing i think) it's bitters, lemonade, lime and errr, vodka...too much lime cordial though...were captivated by the japanese films being shown on the big screens in there, had no idea what was going on...but will find out soon as Rob's now bought the DVD...

...sensible sarah and i were catching the last train home, so had to leave the fun just after 11pm, guess what? raining again, couldn't stay awake on the train, despite some pissed birds singing two lines of a song every couple of minutes...

...sunday, already :o( we headed to the Clairmont, hotel/pub/club in Kilwinning for a yummy roast dinner, then back off to glasgow, to meet the lads. back to grahams for a hot chocolate with wee marshmallows :o) and to check out Robs purchases of the day...no boots i was pleased to find ;o)

raining, getting dark so we jump in the car to check out the huge brass dinosaur at the university and for a quick drink at Air Organic (getting a bit tatty) before dropping sarah at the station (boo hoo) and us at the airport...

...and here begins another tale completely...

...but i'll make it short...

...plane delayed by an hour, plane diverted to Edinburgh, we sit on plane for another hour or so, it's now about 11pm and we haven't eaten since about 2pm...grumble...finally leave, and arrive back at EMA 12:05am...

...oh yeah, and rob and i have now fallen out...as i'm a nagging moose...who won't speak...and he's a flid...

...well, life is just happening to me at such a frenetic pace this month, i just haven't had the time to bore you with it...

...too much time spent at work, not enough time in the day to spend with people i care about and to tell them what they mean to me...and if i do get the chance, i don't say anything or i invariably mess it up...again...

...but then again, life's too short to worry about saying the wrong thing/or something someone doesn't want to hear...

...i don't mean it's ok to say hurtful things to people...but if taking a chance on speaking to someone is all that is standing in the way of...truth?, understanding?, happiness?...oh, lot's of things, then why not just do it?

...i could get hurt, others could get hurt...but is any of this pain worse than the not knowing? i think it is better to take that risk, find out what i am dealing with and get on with living my life without regret...

...here i go, jumping from great heights again...

...friday should be the happiest night of my week, as i have the vague hope of getting a lie in on saturday morning (despite, no doubt, me being awake by 7am, humph)...

...but not this friday, i am going to drown my misery of being a total numpty, and not getting this job, at the orange tree tonight (hmmm, that's not a too bad idea). feel free one and all to join me, or eschew me completely would be the wise thing to do...

...only plus side is i get to go back ot the fuzz on monday, and i happened to see lot's of "very nice looking, young" pleec blokes about today. men in short sleeved shirts...dribble...

...monday saw my return to the "old skool", err, i went back to study at longslade. craigy and i are taking an italian class. several reasons for me doing this, i've always wanted to visit italy (yes, i love 'a room with a view'), needing to stimulate my mind and do something constructive with my time...

...first class was pretty cool, actually learnt something, however, despite the class being all blokes, not a bit of totty amongst them...

...can recommend the phoenix for nosh, before a film or just because..., i had mediterranean panini and a slice of carrot cake, yum, and craig feasted on jacket potato with tuna followed by a magnum chaser...

...then we rolled off to our "usual seats" at the back, and settled down to be entertained by Lantana, a very enjoyable, slightly dark, slightly humourous, bit of shagging, bit of suspense, aussie film...which i greatly enjoyed...

...bumped into marky and als outside, who were off to Watson's for her birthday meal. just been informed the attitude/service in there is shit, and they don't serve pints or have shot glasses...what is the world coming to?...

...we made it to jacey's, for a very swift half, before heading our separate ways "on the buses"...

...am finishing work at 12pm tomorrow (yay) so i can go to milton keynes, boarding (oh yay), if da bruv gets around to calling geoff to arrange it (hmm)...

...got a letter from the "neenah's" today, interview back on...for monday...ooh eck...

...saturday...should i even release such information, so as to be liable for immense ridicule?...like i give a damn...i've got to go shopping for my bridesmaids dress - aaaargh nooooooooo...
